The Yorkshire region holds a diverse and critical position within the UK's food landscape - from its farms and producers to its thriving cities and unique communities.

The FixOurFood Commission, established as the enduring legacy of the acclaimed FixOurFood research program (part of the UK's Transforming UK Food Systems initiative, TUKFS), is evolving to meet the next stage of this challenge.

The FixOurFood Commission is an independent, unbiased convening hub dedicated to accelerating the transformation of the Yorkshire food system.

Our Role

The Yorkshire Food System Hub

Our mission is to bring together the region’s key actors to foster collaboration and evidence-based action. We serve as the vital link between research, policy, and practice across Yorkshire.

The Convenor: We organise high-level meetings, working groups, and annual forums, bringing together farmers, SMEs, policy makers, researchers, NGOs, and other key actors within the food system to share insights and co-design solutions.

The Knowledge Repository: We aim to provide links to resources including data and insights on the Yorkshire food system. Our library collects, curates, and hosts critical documentation from across the region. If you have something to add, please get in touch.

The Legacy: We ensure the groundbreaking findings and outputs of the initial FixOurFood research program continue to inform and inspire action beyond the funding period (June 2026).
