WYSAG Briefing Paper Food Systems v1 1 page 0001

West Yorkshire Scientific Advisory Group (WYSAG)

The West Yorkshire Scientific Advisory Group (WYSAG) is hosted and facilitated by the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Yorkshire and Humber on behalf of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership (WYHCP).

WYSAG brings together academic experts to provide independent, evidence-based policy advice to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Health and Care Partnership, focusing on issues from health, economic, environmental, and equity perspectives.

A recent briefing, produced in partnership with FixOurFood, highlights the potential of transforming food systems to contribute positively to the five missions set out in the West Yorkshire Plan. The group also produces rapid reviews, such as one exploring inequalities in access to flexible working across different groups, including by ethnicity, disability, and gender, to help inform policy aimed at creating a healthier economy.
